Why I Do What I Do, Episode #2

Many years ago, members of our church attended an AIDS walk. The church required us to use a UMC high risk permission slip for all of the youth attending. We were also told that we had to have a debriefing with all the youth together to make sure that they had not been traumatized by anything they had seen. So we pulled into a parking lot before we got back to the church, emptied one car and had them stand around the other car. I asked them, “Well, what did you think?” One young man in the back seat of my van said, "If Jesus was alive, he would have walked with us." I said, “Debriefing over.”
